FAQ'S
Answering some common questions
Here, I'm answering some of the most, often asked questions about my sessions. Please do get in touch if you your query hasn't been addressed here, or if you'd like to discuss anything at all.
Where are your classes based?
Classes are based in St Boswells, and Darnick. For specific venue information, check my bookings page.
Can anyone join classes?
I try to make classes adaptable to suit all levels, however, if you have an unstable medical condition, a recent injury, or have been advised to avoid certain movements, unfortunately, it is not safe for you to attend in these instances. If you have old injuries, or current medical conditions, please get in touch beforehand to discuss suitability. Please note: PiYo Stretch & Flow, and PiYo Power, both require a baseline of fitness and mobility. If in doubt, please reach out.
What equipment is needed?
Zumba requires appropriate footwear and clothing, as well as water and a small towel. PiYo, Pilates, Total Body Blast, Men on Mats and Pilates Plus, all require a mat, water, and a warm layer, with PiYo also requiring a small towel. Lift requires 2 equal weights, and internet connection.
Are classes suitable for beginners?
All classes, except PiYo Stretch & Flow, and PiYo Power, are suitable for beginners. Pilates Plus and Men on Mats do require a discussion to confirm suitability.
Where can I find your Pilates classes?
I take standard Pilates classes in Darnick, and a mixed Pilates/trigger point therapy class, in Newtown St Boswells.
What is Pilates Plus?
Pilates Plus is a mix of therapeutic trigger point releases (using foam rollers and massage balls), to alleviate restrictions, and adding in Pilates and Yoga elements to encourage better movement patterns and body awareness.
Where can I find your Zumba classes?
Both my Monday evening, and Thursday morning Zumba classes, are in St Boswells.
Do you offer mens specific classes?
Yes! My Men on Mats class is a safe, non judgemental space where men can come and experience the benefits of group exercise. I use foam rollers and massage balls to address restrictions/tightness, and add in therapeutic Pilates and yoga exercises to encourage better movement. A perfect standalone, or active recovery session. Men are always welcome to any of my mainstream classes also!
